I usually eat Chobani with a bit of unsweetened applesauce. Tastes pretty good.

Yep. Take an equal portion of regular non-fat yogurt and regular non-fat greek yogurt. The greek yogurt will have nearly double the Protein and half the sugar. It also (to me anyways) is much more rich and creamy and pleasant. The only downside is the somewhat tart flavor (this is because they remove a lot of the lactose (milk sugar) and some whey). That can be remedied with flavored sugar free toppings, protein powders, dip packets, and later on some blended real fruit. It truly is a wonderful food.

Greek yogurt is also often better tolerated by those with lactose intolerance because it has much less lactose.

Sounds good! (taking notes....)

Chobani makes a 0% and 2% yogurt. The 2% is so much better! I get the strawberry banana. I also do the honey flavored yoplait. I have been drinking herbal life Protein and Meal Replacement and it ts really good - better than whey. Good luck!

My really low-fat healthy buffalo chicken dip recipe has the plain greek yogurt in it (the fat-free). It's posted on the recipe forum if anyone is interested, but basically it's FF cream cheese, FF ranch (I just use my daughter's bolthouse yogurt ranch), FF greek yogurt, part-skim shredded mozz cheese, canned chicken breast, and frank's red hot. YUM!!!

I did make my last batch with LF cream cheese instead of FF. I did a recipe builder on it and with LF cream cheese and the yogurt ranch dressing, it has about 100 calories, 5 grams of fat, less than 2 grams of carbs and 12.5 grams of Protein in a 1/4 cup serving. WOOT! It rocks with celery sticks or a few reduced fat wheat thins.

I tried to like it for a long time but just couldn't stand the taste. Then I discovered that adding Stevia and SF vanilla Syrup (the Starbucks stuff) with alot of stirring make it delicious. I add oat bran and blueberries and eat it every day now. Very filling and satisfying.

If you're going to eat plain unflavored Greek yogurt, which is the way to go when you're in the losing phase, you have to doctor it up. You can put sf strawberry preserves in it. There are way less carbs in the plain, than getting my favorite, the decllcious Chiboni Raspberry yougurt. You can add sf cheesecake pudding mix to it to the plain too. It's yummy that way. . Youi can add any Syrup (I love coconut) Torrani or DaVinchi syrups to the pudding mixed with the plain yogurt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
