yecats 109 Posted January 18, 2012 I know I have to call my Dr. office and/or surgeon but off hand, has any experienced being medicated before and after sleeve surgery for the reason to fly. I hate to fly on an airplane and it just hit me, I wonder if I will be able to take a prescribed type of seditive before each flight? I really hope so. I am flying into MX the day before my surgery and flying home 4 days post op. It shouldn't be an issue, medically speaking concerning the surgery or post op my sleeve. circa 333 Posted January 18, 2012 definitely going to have to ask the surgeon directly - could be an issue depending on how many hours before and after your surgery, not to mention whether or not you can take that type of medication right after surgery. Amanda 3.0 140 Posted January 18, 2012 If they knocked me out with a couple of valium in pre-op because of my nerves, I don't know why they wouldn't give you a valium to get you there and back home?
clk 3,519 Posted January 18, 2012 Yep, I agree with the above post. We were given Ativan to help us sleep/relax before surgery and for two days post op, so something like that shouldn't be an issue for you to take prior to flying. Best of luck! ~Cheri
