I was sleeved in August also and I am down 61 pounds. You seem to be doing better than most of us so far! I tend to loose in a pattern. I graphed my loss so far and I can see that I lose for a week or so and then stay the same for a week to 10 days. How long has your stalls lasted? Mine is about 10 or 12 days and then I loose again. I don't have huge drops anymore, just 2 to 3 pounds but I am averaging about 1.8 pounds a week. My surgeon says that the stalls are going to last longer and happen more frequently the farther we are out. You are only 20 pounds from goal in 5 months. That's a lot better than most and I would be happy and count my blessings. Its not going to come off overnight, as it didn't get there that way. Patience! It will come off, but your body has to have time to adjust. I'm sure your body is just adjusting right now and you will lose again soon!

Okay, y'all, deep breath! :-) I know it's seriously frustrating. We just went through possibly the worst season for eating healthfully that we have. You have each lost a substantial amount of weight already.

Bodies lose weight at different rates and in different ways. You may each be experiencing a stair-step loss, like I did and like thousands of other people do, in which you lose on a pretty straight line down for a while, then level off--then you'll lose some, then level off--then lose some, then level off, etc. etc. repeat. And the further away from surgery you get and the less careful you are with your diet (smile), the longer those plateaus grow.

So here's what I suggest: Check your intake and do what you can to clean it up. Focus on Protein first, then veggies. Try to eliminate really high-carb foods (flour, sugar, fruit juice) and added fats that you don't really need. If you eat carbs, be sure they have additional nutritional value (for me, this means dairy and fruit are in). Put simply, no flour, sugar, or junk--eat real food, Protein first.

Next, move a little every day. Find a sustainable exercise program, maybe even just walking, that you can do every day. Nothing radical, nothing dreadful, just moderate, get-off-the-couch moving around every day.

At some point, we will all stop losing weight because we will get to our body's ideal for our intake and energy expenditure. It's going to happen. But if you're still a ways off from your surgeon's goal, you still have opportunity for loss. Use your sleeve to best advantage! Be sure you're taking in plenty of fluid--dehydration can actually slow your loss and make you feel fatigued and icky.

HUGS, y'all. All is definitely not lost--you're just hitting a new place in the weightloss process. :-) When you hit a plateau, be sure to stay on your program and measure; that's when I lose inches as my body sort of reshapes.

What site is it that you graph your loss on? A visual would definitely help when experiencing stall. Like you said, you kind of know what to expect.

P.S. I like following your progress, I kinda watch your ticker ( for) I noticed a long time ago that we are the same height and started around the same weight. I know everyone is different but it is inspiring. thanks :)

Thanks! I made the graph myself in excel. I can send it to you if you want it and you can tweak it to your own. You just change the weight values in the first column and the dates on the last column but leave the middle ones alone. The graph shows a starting line at the top, 1/4 done, half done, 3/4 done and goal. It also shows a trend line if you were to loose at a rate of 1 lb a week, 2 lbs a week and 3 lbs a week. Its very colorful. Your weight trend line will be in bright yellow. Its all on a dark gray background. You can change all the colors to your taste. PM me and I will email it to you if you would like. That goes for anyone who is interested in it.

I chart my loss on myfitnesspal.com. (I'm irishfanvsg on there) It is my food log too. It makes it easy to track Protein as well. I started at 282. I had surgery 7/13/11 and now am 197. Lost about 85. I've been stalled for almost a month. It was recommended to me to up my calories to 1200 (was btw 800-900) and try for 100 grams of protein. I'm gonna try it. I did concentrate on my Water and that has helped as well.

My personal trainer wants me to drink 1gm of Protein for each lb I weight. That's like 163gms. That seems like an awful lot and I'm afraid I will gain weight by drinking that much protein. LOL ;)

WOW! I'm not the only one! I was sleeved on Aug. 17th, last year and I've been stuck for almost 2 months! I've upped my exercise, I'm watching what I eat and I'm still stuck. I do notice that if the plumbing gets backed up, I get stuck and that's a bad pattern. I've been stuck in the low 180's for too long. So frustrating. :banghead: I'm starting my fitness class in 2 weeks and will be doing an hour and half of zumba twice a week plus the walking I already do,and hopefully it will break this stall.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
