Smithagkv 1 Posted January 17, 2012 My doctor had called and wanted me to.have a sleep study done before my surgery. Why do I need this done? What r they looking for? Does anybody else's doctor reqd this?
Caliblonde 25 Posted January 17, 2012 Lots of people have to have them. They are looking for sleep apnea. My surgeon required a sleep study and if you were diagnosed with sleep apnea they required you to consistently use a c-pap for 60 or 90 days prior to surgery (it has built in data so the doctor can check to make sure you've been using it consistently). Bedhead 158 Posted January 17, 2012 Since I have NO signs of sleep apnea my PCP just signed a note to my surgeon that I did not have any sleep apnea signs OT symptoms and he was confident in recommending me for surgery without first having the sleep study done.
