Catracks 865 Posted January 13, 2012 and I feel fine almost normal except for some stomach tenderness around the larger incision and some gurgling. I walked a lot Wednesday night because I hated the gassy bloating. I stopped the morphine and didn't have anymore pretty much right after surgery. Every time I pushed the button, I would go to sleep and they'd yell at me because my saturation would go down. It was a pain. Anyway, feeling fine and having some chicken broth. The broth is great since all they gave me in the hospital was runny Jello and Crystal Light. My blood pressure is already down to normal. I'm almost afraid to weigh myself because of all the fluids they pumped into me. Water weight of course, but going backwards after all that? lol!
Kerensa 0 Posted January 13, 2012 I got sleeved on Tuesday so here's wishing you some good luck with this journey. I was glad when I could have something other than the morphine for pain. I felt like I lost a couple of days of my life being knocked out by that stuff. I'm feeling alot better today then the other days and still have some pain and discomfort but it's tolerable. I had originally planned on returning to work on Monday (I work a desk job in a nursing home) but I'm seriously doubting that's going to be able to happen. Catracks 865 Posted January 14, 2012 Kerensa, take more time off. I suppose I could work if I had to, but you are supposed to be concentrating on healing. The morphine put me to sleep, but I didn't like it. They put some non-narcotic pain meds in my IV after the recovery room. I wasn't in pain after walking the gas out. I do notice that I get cold very easily.
Mrs.Newme 21 Posted January 14, 2012 I hate those drugs. They knock you out, make you itch, sick to your stomach and then you can't poop. Im glad you are feeling good. I felt pretty good too, but had some bowel issues 4 days out that I was not prepared for. The good thing is that this is not common, but when it does happen to people, it is brutal. Keep in mind...liquid in....liquid out. But that will return to normal too once thicker liquids start. Congratulations and good luck.
christin 54 Posted January 14, 2012 Congratulations! Mine was Monday and I'm glad I have another week off from work. I feel normal, but find I tire quickly if I start cleaning or doing stuff.
