Hey Guys

I want to qualify this with the fact that I AM a hypochondriac  . I am coming up on 3 months out and have had no problems or complications to date. My diet progression has been successful at every level and there has been really no foods that I have eaten that I can't tolerate. Lately as of the last 2 and a half days, after eating small amounts 2.5-4oz I feel very full almost like the food is in my chest and I have to burp, but it feels like if I burp I will vomit. Not to be vulgar but it also feels like I have to go the bathroom right after I eat but I don't ever go. I have an appointment with my doc late next week, but Im nervous as this is the first time I have experienced this. I can say that The 3 meals this did happen, I ate kinda fast and one resulted in actually vomiting. Does this sound like the symptoms associated with a gastric stricture? I searched the net and all stricture info comes up with gastric bypass.

actually, it sounds exactly like what everyone says will happen if you eat too fast. Your sleeve is still finicky - sometimes food won't agree with it. The faster you eat, the more "full" you're going to feel because the food doesn't have time to mix with stomach acids and you're not giving your sleeve a chance to work. Always good to check with the doctor though if you're feeling uncomfortable. Most likely, you just ate too fast.

Stricture issues with the sleeve are associated with a larger size bougie than they use now. Usually a 48f - most are done with a 32f now, which virtually removed all stricture issues.

Hang in there!

good to hear! I once heard a doc say in a seminar "chew your food until you want to spit it out - then swallow" :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
