Everyone's different. Have you talked to your NUT about it, or your surgeon? My NUT saids that 3 months post op, I should be eating 2oz of Protein, 1/4 c of starch, 1/4c fruit, and 1/4c vegetables. That is alot of food to me, and I can't eat that much. So I called my surgeon's office and they said to eat 800 to 1200 calories. This is alot more simpler. ;)

My main concern is stretching my pouch. That is why I was wondering ounces. My surgeon told me I should never eat more than 3 ounces at one time. That seemed too small to me

That does help, does anyone know how easily the pouch is stretched? I am closer to 7 months out and have hit a plateau for the last 2 months. I am worried that I will quit losing

i was told it is impossible to stretch our stomachs. And i too have been in a stall since October. But I hope i lost 3 lbs this week doing straight Protein. And hopefully it doesn't fluctuate back up. I know how frustrating it is. And im right there with you. I have heard of others that had stalls, but eventually did reach goal. So it is possible even though it seems so difficult right now. Good luck :)

I was told to stick mostly Protein in there and then some veggies.

We don't have pouches, we have little stomaches that would be VERY difficult to stretch out. My meal plan from my nutritionist says 4 oz at each meal or as tolerated. I'm just over 5 months out and a typical day's menu is as follows:

B - 1/4 cup egg beaters omelet with 1 oz canadian bacon, 1/2 oz 2% shredded cheese, a little diced Tomato and sliced mushroom

L - 2 oz chicken burger or 2-3 oz of chicken breast, 1 oz 2% block cheese, some sort of vegetable (sliced cucumbers, carrots, etc.)

D - 2-3 oz meat (chicken breast, turkey meatballs, etc.), small portion of carbs (usually about 1 oz or so), sometimes a small salad

I also have a snack in the afternoon, usually a clementine or a 1 oz portion of sliced cheese.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
