Be careful with reglan! It can give you.... uh.... weird side effects.... in your boobage. Especially if you've had a baby before.

I speak from extremely awkward experience :(

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but there is one thing I am curious about.

Dr. Aceves keeps his patients on liquids for 3 weeks. He said eating before 3 weeks puts too much pressure on the new tummy and can cause a leak. I know all doctors have different post op diets. How long were you posst op before you started eating rather than only drinking?

I hope the new medication is helping you feel better !

It can cause lactation. Which is totally awkward when you're out to dinner with friends and all of a sudden your boobs are leaking all over your shirt.

jasleeve, I've been offline a lot the last few days. DARN that real life stuff anyway! :) I'm glad that you're on your way to having the leak heal, but was really upset to see that you've had to go back to ER again! I'm truly hoping that the Reglan pills help the acid issue very quickly.

I think you're doing a good job of keeping things real for yourself and in your posts here. Yeah, you sound upset, but I would be upset, too! (((Hugs))) to you and I'll keep you in my prayers.

i truly feel so bad for people who are jumping on this train! if only they knew what they could possibly be getting themselves into! i want to tell them to run & go sign up for a gym & just do the hard work because this right here is not the way!!!!!

i wouldnt wish this on anyone. i feel so sick. & i know my friends are tired of hearing me complain about it so i try & stay to myself but damn!!!! i dont know how much more i can take. they say ill get better but im getting worse!!!! & they said the stent has to stay for 4-6weeks. i thought i was already 2 weeks in! im not. im only 1week & 2days in! this is TORTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it has even crossed my mind to switch to bypass to just get past this part! i cant deal with this feeling! my goodness :(

*****UPDATE****** feb 2nd, 2012

i now have a leak & a stent was placed in. feeling horrible!!! the below post is the least of my worries now!

im going crazy.. :(

i was sleeved dec 20th. everything was ok until maybe a week after coming home from the hospital. i realized that i was extremely exhausted and always felt faint. it didnt really start hitting me hard until last week. everyone keeps telling me that it will get better but it feels like its getting worse! i keep trying to "stay positive" but how much more of this can i take? i want to feel normal again!!!!

i noticed that when i walk, im like dragging my feet. im so weak and faint. almost like my thighs might just give out.

i also have excessive gas which i think is making me really nauseous. the burps are just crazy. i cant eat or sip without burping.. then it wont stop until i take some gas x chewables. i live off those chewables.

as far as shakes, i cant tolerate them. ive tried so many different ones & i throw them up. they absolutely repulse me!

i do eat but i have to be "in the mood" to eat whatever is in front of me or i will just throw it up. my stomach is extremely weak! i cant even tolerate Soups. they turn my stomach too.

i called my surgeon & told him how im feeling & he told me im dehydrated. told me to get on gatorade for a week & see how i feel then. im going in thursday morning to see the nurse practioner.

the gas & the gatorade mixed is making me very nauseous.

i take 20mg of prilosec in the morning, 2- Multivitamins & 1- B12.

im so so so so so so tired of this! i truly regret surgery. i never thought id feel like this but i do. :(

sorry to hear that your sleeve isn't doing so good for you, hopefully it will get better. i have been fortunate that i have had no complications or problems except a little GERD. Good Luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
