Something "crunchy" To Snack On...

I am not sleeved yet but have a concern for after I heal from surgery. I really like Snacks that are crunchy. I thought celery until I heard how harmful it can be to some of us. I obviously prefer something low calorie, low carb.

Any suggestions?

No celery!! Except cooked. Crunchy is tough. I like WASA Crispbreads. Only 20 calories for a "cracker" the size of a graham cracker.

Actually you may not have use for cruncy Snacks for several months. After eating your Protein and then some bites of veggies-no room left. I, personally do not have space for Snacks (although some have them planned in). My sleeve will only tolerate food every 4 hours (3 meals a day) and I have no desire, or space for snacks.

I know some eat saltines or other low fat crackers. Also if you check into some of the Atkins type snacks you can find things like 100% cheese crisps-in flavors and things like that.

I think it would healthier and cheaper to do it yourself. As far as I know you drain a can spread them out on a baking sheet and either drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with whatever seasonings you want (salt, cayenne pepper, you name it). The only think is that I don't know at what temp or how long.

They are like pine nuts. They can go from perfect to burned in an instant so you have to watch them.

I love crunchy stuff. At first, I ate a single saltine to get my crunch fix. Now I rely on whole wheat crackers. I found a great one at Walmart with 5 grams of Protein for 100 calories. I usually just eat half.

Cucumbers, baby carrots, and apples are good crunchy treats too. I like my apple with a little Peanut Butter. I make a ranch dip using the dry mix and greek yogurt. It's great with the cucumbers and carrots.

I also double-toast my whole wheat bread so it's really crunchy.

Ok, it's not so much "crunchy" as "crispy", but I love pepperoni chips. Just put pepperoni slices (turkey pepperoni if you're going lower-fat) on some paper towels on a plate, microwave until the sizzling stops. They end up crispy - yum!

Oooh, my favorite crunchy snack is dry roasted almonds( emerald brand) they are 100 calorie packs, the calories are just right and the portion is just right! I keep them in my purse, and eat them at work! I love them

I also eat BBQ Pork rinds too. No Carbs!!

I can only eat maybe two of those!!

But Im also a bit over 2 months post op!

I didn't get to start eating this fun stuff until about 3 weeks ago.

AK, I'm not 100%but I think no celery because the thin little strings can get caught in the staple line? But maybe someone else can either confirm or correct that!!

I'm 3.5 weeks out and can't start uncooked veggies until after 6 weeks. I can still have other crunchy Snacks. Simce im eating cery puttle, I do allow myself some carbs in the form of crackers or, my favorite, pretzel thins. A little farther out on my list is to have pork skins and soy nuts. Also, you might try Googling low carb snacks for some ideas.

The stringy fibers in celery make it really hard to digest and can cause a bezoar or intestinal blockage that could lead to a bowel impaction. Not fun. That was my doc's reasoning.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life.       Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

        Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
