Is Syntha 6 An Acceptable Protein Powder To Use?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if Syntha 6 is a good Protein to use for the post op diet? My husband uses it for muscle building and it tastes REALLY good (which I hear is an issue with many powders), and he did a lot of research on it, but like I said, that was for muscle building primarily. I'm not sure what to look for in a Protein Powder when it comes to sleeve success.

The first Protein should be "whey Protein ISOLATE" NOT AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT......NOT COLLAGEN!

My nutritionist "nut" beats me in the head with this every time I see her.

The collagen is an incomplete protein that your body cannot absorb as well. Hope this helps....so what does the label say first? That is the major protein. Most of the Protein Shots are the wrong kind of protein.

Well I went and looked....it says "whey protein" and "whey protein isolate" second...no collagen in the label. Not sure since the "whey protein isolate" was not first? Might want to pass it buy your nut?

Ok cool! That's good to know. I'm gathering info, as my surgery is in February. Good info, thank you!

Dooter

Try GNC Wheybolic Extreme. I dipped my finger in to taste test the powder only and it was pretty good. I'm using this in the vanilla and the BSN Lean Dessert in Whipper vanilla and chocolate. They're super good and help me to tolerate the Protein. Seriously the Lean Dessert is like drinking a shake. And they are both whey.< /p>

I would watch the calories - 200 plus 90 for your milk - almost 300 calories a shake. That's ok early out when you can't get in many calories but later could really put you over the top. It also looks like it is a Protein compound that includes whey isolate but also others so not sure how much is the whey isolate. Best advice - take it to your nutritionist and ask them to review it with you!

I probably won't use milk post surgery. I don't like milk anyway. I'll be freaking out about every calorie, I'm sure. I figured if my husband is ordering and using it anyway, I might as well see if it will work for me too. I'll take a label scan with me when I go. Thanks!
