Water After Workout

Recommended Posts

I am a new sleever (12/28). I have been walking in the morning. I am getting really excited b/c my hour walk route now takes me a little over 40mins! :)

After my walk, I am sooo thirsty. I try to sip my Water slowly when I get done but it's not enough. When I sneak a gulp- I pay for it. I am really not a fan of drinking and walking either.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes.....I am always thirsty after my exercise. You should take a water bottle with you and stop every so ofter and take a drink. That way you will not be as thirsty after your walk. It helps me.

Even though you're not a fan of drinking and walking, give it a try till your tiny tummy can take more Water. After a while you will be able to gulp water again but in the meantime, you need some way to keep from getting so thirsty. Just a little sip here and there on the walk will help.

I had that issue too and I carried a water bottle everywhere and sipped, sipped, sipped. I still take water most everywhere, but I can now take a nice long walk and then drink a full glass pretty quickly when I get back home.

Congrats on the exercise! For me, it's really been key to continued weight loss as I approach goal and to giving some nice form under the looser skin I now have.

Congrats on the 112lbs lost! I can't wait to shed those pounds. I will use your feed back.

Keep up the good work. Take the water bottle with you on your walk. Pick out landmarks or points of interests to stop at and take your sips. That will help you make the sipping more habit than a job.

It will get easier. I work out 1 1/2 hours a day at a gym and have no problem putting away 2 one liter bottles worth of Water in that time. I'm 7 months post-op.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
