PGee 318 Posted January 30, 2014 CurvyCakes, welcome! I was sleeved in August, and it was the best decision I've made for myself.....was wearing a very tight 22, and now wearing size 14......and the health benefits from the weight loss and exercise trump everything else. March will be here before you know it, good luck! Hello I'm 5'2 and will be sleeved in March. 1 Blessedfun reacted to this
CurvyCakes 269 Posted January 30, 2014 Thank you and ur right time is flying but I want it right nowwww lol. What's crazy is I'm this excited and scared at the same time of getting a blood clot or not waking up from surgery. No matter what nothing scares me more than remaining in my current over weight unhealthy status so scared or not that sleeve is mines lol 1 Blessedfun reacted to this
cbwalker79 187 Posted January 30, 2014 Hey Curvy girl... Welcome to the group!! I know how you felt about waiting but don't be scared. I don't regret my sleeve at all and I would make the same choice all over again. However, I am 4 weeks post op and the process is very slow. Not necessarily the Weightloss (which is great) but trying to eat is a process. I am 5'1 HW 197 CW 168 and I am one month out tomorrow. Every persons body is different an will react to the surgery differently but I get sick easily. Again enjoy the ride to March and eat what you like bc come March it's gonna be over for a few months!!! Good luck 1 Blessedfun reacted to this
CrissyRing77 232 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Hi there! I'm a shorty too! 10 weeks out today and down 40lbs including my preop diet loss of 8lbs! I carry most of my weight in my stomach so while my clothes fit better and the legs/butt are huge my tummy isn't going down enough to get me out of my size :/ I'm a bit bummed! I caught some sort of virus around Christmas and it attacked my spleen so no exercise allowed until it shrinks and I kid you not I had just been released 2 days before my ER visit when they found that my spleen was HUGE! It's still not down yet so that's a bummer! Eating is going pretty well I need to sloooooow down tho I eat too fast still and ouch! Otherwise eating just over 2 oz a meal and almost getting my liquids in hope to meet some shorties to share journeys with! I read 3 pages before I realized it was 32 pages long so I haven't caught up yet! I suppose I should add my stats forgot them! Highest Weight 216, Preop Diet Weight 211, Surgery Weight 202.5 Current Weight 170 I haven't been in the 160's since the year I got married(2006)!!! It's so close I can taste it!!! acampbell1318 58 Posted January 30, 2014 Hi everyone I am 5'1" and I weighed 209.5 on Jan. 6th (day of surgery) and now I am 3 weeks out and I am at 190.5. I have been frustrated because all Protein Shakes make me nauseous so I think that is why I am not losing faster. I know they say we are slower to lose but I am getting impatient. I also know I need to exercise more. I am now on mushy foods 2x a day and try to get Protein shakes in 2x a day. I find myself pushing the amount of food I take in, I think that is because I feel like if I don't get the protein I am not going to lose. Any advice will be appreciated. lmdx0sleeved 14 Posted January 30, 2014 I'm 5'2 still in pre op but my hw was 230, currently at 217. I should be having my surgery in less than a month so I will keep y'all posted!! best of luck everyone!
carstanger 346 Posted January 30, 2014 I'm 14 months out and proud to say I'm still 5ft2in. Have lost 1/2 inch over the years. I was 65 when I had the surgery, and was 22/24 or 1x, 2x depending on the clothes. I have lost 100.5 pounds and was 125.4 yesterday.....5 pounds below my goal. Want to maintain now so that I don't go above 130. Wearing a size 8P,10p or 12 P depending on the style of pants. Medium or Large P on top. Never weighed that. Have lots of loose skin so not sure what I will do. My body is still changing though. Good luck with your journey!! 1 Blessedfun reacted to this
Dea 17 Posted January 30, 2014 you've lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks. that's good! just like before your surgery you don't want it to come off super fast. re: Protein, my opinion is different than your nutritionist's. I did very well though getting moderate Protein and more fat. (fat keeps you feeling full, and helps you to better absorb Vitamins. I'm not saying eat buckets of it, but I chose full fat things, rather than low fat options) When I was in the Protein shake phase I did what I could (and it wasn't much) and then when I could eat food I did better. I hated the shakes so much, they were too sweet for me and I cannot stand fake sugar. (plus it's awful for you!) Also if you're 3 weeks out, you're still healing, don't push too hard, if you injure yourself, it'll slow everything down. Go for walks and enjoy your new body. Anyhow it does get better! You're doing fine! Remember it's not a race or a contest. Do what your body needs and be proud of what you're doing for you!

msjoy83 42 Posted March 3, 2014 I'm 4'11 and 200 lbs have not had surgery yet, go for my consult on the 13th of March And From there I'll know what's what. My goal would be 135-140 though that's considered over weight for our height. Just can't see myself at 125lbs :-) maybe it is possible.
cbwalker79 187 Posted March 3, 2014 Oh it definitely can happen. Don't limit yourself on how much you can lose as long as you work the program, guidelines, Protein and exercise. I'm 2 months out today and down 40 lbs. I'm 5'1 started at 197 and I'm now 157. But My lowest weight is 136. So I'm looking forward to my goal being around 100-110 lbs. think big and you lose big 1 sleevexcited reacted to this
