Paola 62 Posted January 6, 2012 This might be a stupid question, but what is gas pain like? I have read about it being there right after surgery, but I have no clue what gas pain is.
OCMICHELLE714 4 Posted January 6, 2012 TRUST ME...YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW.....THE PAIN AND THE PRESSURE ARE BAD...IT'S CAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE THE SURGERY THEY ACTUALLY "INFLATE" YOUR ABDOMIN TO GET IN THERE EASIER.... NO BUENO! 1 daydreamerz reacted to this
former_vbg 198 Posted January 7, 2012 Some have it worse than others, but personally my gas pain was pretty intense. What happens is when they "blow" your stomach up with carbon dioxide so they have room to work, they do deflate as much as possible but there is some that is left behind that your body has to work itself out. Most people complain of extreme pain in the left shoulder, and sometimes in different areas of their abdomen. Some only have it for a few days, others say it lasts off and on for a couple of weeks as was the case for me. Honestly, it does hurt, but it's not anything you should think about in terms of making the decision of whether to have the surgery. It will pass, and before long it will become a distant memory. thebionicbroad 127 Posted January 7, 2012 The gas settled a bit in my left shoulder, but I made sure to walk as much as I could, and that reduced the pain quite a bit. Walking cures a host of ills.
