Buddy Wanted In Losing The Last 25 Pounds

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a buddy in my journey to lose the last 25 pounds. I would like to find someone to help me be accountable for working out and eating right each day. It seems that most of my 'real-life' friends want to make it a competition, rather than us supporting eachother. If anyone is interested, let me know!

Hey Coops,

Thanks for replying. I'm really looking for someone to hold me accountable for working out 5-6 times a week (I tend to wimp out & only actually go 3 times a week). I would be happy to help you be accountable for your workouts as well. I'm also trying to get back to how I was eating in the beginning. Lately, I've been having too many treats, to the point that they really aren't treats, but are just how I am eating every day. Maybe we could message each other at the end of each day (or at the beginning of each day) with reports on how we did with workouts and eating for that day or the day prior?

Hey Ladies,

Maybe we can do daily updates to each other? I think it would help me if I had to be more accountable about what I'm eating and how often I'm exercising. It wouldn't have to be anything too extensive. I'm aiming to hit the gym at least 5 days a week. I'd love to make my goal weight by summer, but it has been SLOW going the last couple months, so I'm not sure how realistic that is at this point. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
