Wife Said, You People Are Getting Payed.

Recommended Posts

I showed her this form and she said the Mexican doctors are paying you all to say good things about them. I have a question. Can you make living at this? Lol. I hope someday I'll get her support.

Well, I was self-pay. Had it done in the U.S. and I have never in my whole entire life felt better. I've lost 150 pounds in a year, my BMI went from 42 to normal, my pre-diabetes is gone, and my cholesterol dropped from 245 to 131. My knee pain is also gone, thus eliminating the future need for a knee-replacement.

It was the best decision I've ever made. It cost me a fortune, for sure, but I gained an entire life. Hard to put a price on that.

Hope your wife can get behind you.

Where's my freakin check? Nah, I didn't get paid or even any promo or anything of that sort. I tell about my surgery and surgeon as honestly as I can. Now there are plenty of Doctors I can certainly tell crap about but I don't.

You could get paid if you were a coordinator but you would have to live in Cali or Mexicali and they don't really do promo stuff as far as I know.

I wish I got paid in cash money but I have been paid in the fact that I have lost 110 lbs in a year!!! I tell everyone about my surgery and that there is no way I would have done this on my own. Paid but not in the way you are thinking. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Have your wife private message me, I will send her my blood work from before and after surgery. I will send her my before and after pictures. I had my surgery in Mexico and would do it again tomorrow. Doing the proper research is the key. There is nothing wrong with being skeptical but not to the point where it keeps you from having the surgery and saving your life.

candy man, I've been on this forum for six months, reading and watching the journey of many of the sleevers who went to Mexico.

I would be suspicious if their posts always said great things about their docs, but that isn't the case! I read about tgeir day to day struggles and lives. If they were getting paid, I doubt they would post more than once or twice.

I was Del pay in the us, but I'd be more than willing to talk to your wife. Pm me for my phone number if she wants to talk to someone. Also, I have a blog (as do many others on this forum) where I post about my day to day journey. There is a lot of info available from the sleeve community that your wife could research.

Of course, if her mind is made up, nothing will convince HER. You may have to make your decision about surgery without her support. Others have done it without spousal support, like me. Sometimes it is more important to save your own life than to make someone else happy.

I kinda thought the same thing at first, so I found someone on this board that was from my area and contacted them directly. She had gone to Dr. Aceves in Mexicali and really helped be believe that it was real! I finally called and talked to Nina at Dr. Aceves office and it made all the difference for me!

I am almost 7 week out and doing great! I would not trade my trip to Mexico for anything! It was great!

Hope your wife can learn to support you.

Some of those docs do have their shills on here saying how wonderful they are because they know many on this forum are looking for a surgeon and they want more business, but I'd say 99.999% of posts on here are absolutely genuine, whether Mexico or U.S. patients.

They should offer me a 60% off coupon. They should atleast pick me up from the San Diego terminal in a pinto limo.

Them paying people off, thats preposterous

Sounds like an Obama election with all this paying people off stuff

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
