I Have A Date, I Have A Date! Thank You Jesus =)

Recommended Posts

I went to the Dr. today, and after seeing that I had lost 61 pounds he asked me when I wanted the surgery done; I said as soon as possible. The Dr. said I could have it done on Tuesday of next week, when I heard that I think my eyes bugged out and I couldn't say YES! fast enough. So after months of waiting for insurance, then bloodwork to be done the day is finally right around the corner =)

Thank you Jesus, because you made this possible!!!

My highest weight was 380

First Dr. appointment 368

Today!!! 307

I am soooooooooo happy =)

Hi Paola

how terrific is that? you must be so excited. many times people have to wait weeks or months to get surgery. You are getting in a few days. no time to get too nervous, just stay so excited.

keep well, have a great surgery and recovery welcoming the New Year 2012 - what a way to go.

I told the Dr. I had been doing it since the end of October, he was impressed. I remember his secretary telling me during our first appt that sometimes people tried to do it for 3 weeks, but it was hard to do. The great thing is that because the surgery is in less than a week, I will only do the 4 Protein shakes with 0 carbs for like 4 days, instead of a whole week. I am so excited I have spent all night and day telling everyone I know about my surgery date. biggrin.png

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
