peacequeen 434 Posted January 15, 2012 Thanks yall! happy,,unfortunately I'm on tpn,,practically pure sugar..I've gained 9 pounds back worth of fluids. I can't aim for any weightloss till I'm off the tpn. Once I am, I will be back to square one with the clear liquid diet..and so forth.

Capt Derel 287 Posted January 15, 2012 You have just confirmed exactly what I was reading from the pages of a medical newsletter on gastric sleeve. If there is a leak you have a better chance on finding it 8 days out to 6 months. Anything earlier its harder to find a leak because the stomach is still n. i just discussed this with my PCP. He agreed to let me do a barium test 10-14 days out just to double check before I go back to work. I like my doc. Hes more excited than me that I am getting sleeved. Good luck but just remember in the medical papers microleaks can occur up to 6 months (null)

christin 54 Posted January 15, 2012 So glad to read that you were finally able to go home. So sorry you have had to go through all of this! Be encouraged. You sure seem like you are keeping a great attitude, but it must be difficult at some moments. Thinking of you and looking forward to your full recovery! M2G 1,836 Posted January 15, 2012 I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. A leak is definitely a big risk with this surgery and I'm sorry you were one of the few who developed one. I am happy that you are home and on the mend, and it sounds like they are not planning another surgery to fix it? I may have missed an update on that but it sounds like you are in wait-and-see mode. Please know our thoughts are with you and I hope your healing speeds up and you start to feel better soon! HUGS!
