I Feel So Let Down......

Recommended Posts

I know I've posted a few times of my up and coming 1/2 marathon on my anniversary. My husband finished school a few months ago and we had until December (until our saving ran out) for him to find a position. Unfortunately it's been like pulling teeth to get him out looking and well?? The money's gone.......

The 1/2 marathon in Disneyland has been a dream of mine forever and I've been so excited for it. But it seems like we may not get to go. We can't afford the flights and accommodation as things are right now.

Truth be told, I am so very resentful!!! Had he been out looking? Fine. Had he taken all my duties at home? Fine. But I have so much on my plate, my life is so caotic all the time, and I find it so unfair that I have been working my ass off to feed and care for my family, and now my dream gets taken away??? How is that fair???? Sorry to ramble, I'm just so sad : (

Fern ... you have so much good company -- my heart goes out to you.

I know what it's like to have a goal either snatched away or moved.

OK now. Deep breath. Rewind and reset. The goal was fantastic, but it's doable at a future date. Doesn't mean you won't get to do it. Just maybe not when originally planned.

Maybe it's time to reset lifestyles also and make some decisions to further pull back on anything you can. Sounds like family business meeting time to make a new budget.

So glad you're doing great on your other health goals. I see you're nine pounds past your weight goal and I'm just starting on my journey.

Hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
