Afro_Cyster 74 Posted January 4, 2012 I just entered my pureed stage. Yesterday, I was allowed to eat pureed tuna and any kind of egg. So of course I made a pureed tuna salad with tuna, eggs, light mayo, mustard, and black pepper. Later that evening I ate two tablespoons of pureed refried Beans. I got incredibly full so I stopped. No upchucking, the food didn't get stuck in my throat, NOTHING. Just this uncomfortable fullness. Great right? Wrong.....it didn't let up until this afternoon. So I started again with the tuna. After three spoonfuls, I'm full again. Why is it taking so long for the food to digest? Should I go back to full liquids?
MINI-Me 196 Posted January 4, 2012 You sound about right to me. If you aren't feeling pain and not throwing up or foaming, you are doing well. Just be sure to measure beforehand and measure what's left afterwards to keep track of what you are actually consuming. Also - be sure to chew, chew, chew. How big are your spoonfuls? Are we talking baby spoons or regular kitchen spoons. If kitchen, you are doing very well for just a few weeks out.
Afro_Cyster 74 Posted January 5, 2012 I'm using a baby spoon.....lol
Lissa 2,631 Posted January 5, 2012 Try measuring out a couple of ounces and eating only that. It will help you not get uncomfortably full and will allow the food to digest in time for the next meal. Lissa
Newgirlie 37 Posted January 5, 2012 That happened to me too. It will get better within a few weeks. Our tummies have to slowly get used to our intake, plus they are still healing.
SKCUNNINGHAM 298 Posted January 5, 2012 The above suggestion are all right on point. Also, make your pureed food a little runnier in consistency. It will be easier on your tummy.
mars411 0 Posted January 8, 2012 I am with you on the uncomfortable fullness. It lasts and lasts and I only eat about 2 ozs. I can't wait until my stomach gets used to all this. AND stops with the gurgling!
BettyBoop 28 Posted January 8, 2012 All good suggestions for you above. I might also add try eating just one tablespoon rather than two. Or one ounce instead of two. See if that is more comfortable for you. Good Luck!
