Don 5 Posted January 3, 2012 I still have issues with back and neck pain. Let's face it....my body is still old. If you saw an MRI of my neck you would understand that pain and I have had terrible sciatica since last January. I have went religiously to PT and have had 4 epidurals and still not much relief. I am contemplating a new mattress. I have always been intrigued by the Tempur-pedic, but have been hearing good things about sleep Number or Select Comfort beds. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I have read both good and bad on the internet about both systems. Don
thebionicbroad 127 Posted January 3, 2012 Don, My DH and I slept on a sleep Number bed for about 7 years, and for the past 1 1/2 years, we've been on a Tempur-pedic. We are not affiliated with Tempur-pedic in any way. Sleep Number: Is nothing but an airbed with a pillow-top for 10X the price. The sides eventually buckle, and nothing will shore them up. The pump will eventually fail, and it costs hundreds of dollars for a new one. We got to where we were tossing and turning all night, waking up with sore shoulders and hips. Tempur-pedic: Odd at first. Sleeps a bit warm in summer, fabulous in winter. Can't feel the movements of the other person, truly. Wonderful support. No tossing and turning. No joint pain. Deeper sleep, so many more dreams. Wake up refreshed. When material starts to soften, we can turn the bed 180 degrees. Expensive, but we found a sale for 12 months same as cash. Worth. Every. Penny. We bought their softest model, and are as happy as (well rested) clams.
Kimmie-sleeve 34 Posted January 3, 2012 We have had our tempurpedic for almost 5 years, and it is heaven!!! My back and hip issues are so much better sleeping in that bed. We also have a Keetsa bed at our weekend house. It is similar to tempurpedic but has some different ingredients in the foam. It was a bit less expensive and seems almost as good. You will not be sorry investing in a tempurpedic!!! Kimmie
