ItsGottaGo! 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I am not banded yet, but hope to be by the end of September. I have an appt. with the surgeon and psych. next Thursday. I am very curious to know how much weight everyone lost in their first 2 -3 months of being banded. Thanks!
Jachut 487 Posted July 27, 2006 Oooh, about 10kg - so 22 lb or so - in the first six weeks, then it slowed down to about 2lb a week for a while (probably 3 months or so), now its about 3lb per month.
GayleTX 1 Posted July 27, 2006 I lost 15 lb pre-op and have lost 50 lb as of today, 4 months out tomorrow. Most of that 50 lb was in the first 2 1/2 months, then it slowed down. Some weeks nothing, some weeks 3 lbs! Good luck!
Stitchy 0 Posted July 27, 2006 At 12 weeks out, I have lost 22 lbs. However, I lost 12 lbs just prior to surgery for a total of 34 lbs. The bulk of it was right after surgery and has now slowed to 1-2 lbs a week.
tztmama 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I lost and gained the same 20 pounds until I got a my fourth fill. Right now I am losing nothing and have even gained about 7 pounds. I had to have an unfill due to being too tight and now I am getting filled a half cc at a time which is giving almost no restriction. We all vary so much that it is hard to compare. In all I have lost over 50 pounds so I am happy with that. I am definitely in the "turtle" club.

Veggestyle 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I really appreciate this thread. It is interesting to see how everyone is so different with the band.
g curtis 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I lost 39 pounds. But I had a very strict consultant who had me on fluids for a month and then sloppies for a month. But it did the trick and I did'nt find it too difficult. Gaynor
Wheetsin 714 Posted July 27, 2006 The first week I'd dropped somewhere over 20, 25ish maybe. Around 2 mos out I was around 50, probably. Now about 4.75 months out and down just over 90.
Elisabethsew 50 Posted July 27, 2006 I'm almost 4 months out and have lost 45 pounds. My surgeon doesn't do a first fill for 8 weeks post-op and I didn't get restriction until my last fill (#3) a week ago.
Tricia K. 0 Posted July 27, 2006 At 2 months out, I was down 26 pounds. I'm now 10 1/2 months out and have lost a total of 86 pounds. 86 pounds/45 weeks = 1.91 pounds/week I have 28 pounds to go before I reach my goal.
YeeHaw 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I am about 3 and a half months out and have lost about 30 pounds. Shortly after I healed to where I could exercise, I cut half my toe off( long story) so then I could not exercise for about a month and a half. I will admit that I have not been trying as I should. It was hard when I did not have a fill. I got my second fill about a week ago and now it is SOOOOO much better, I feel like I am getting somewhere now. DrewsLou 3 Posted July 27, 2006 I am just under 3 months out and have lost a total of 36 pounds. It has slowed down quite a bit the past few weeks so I am going in for my third fill next week.
Randi L 0 Posted July 27, 2006 I'm 5 weeks out with 20 pounds gone. I do think if you start up high, there is a bigger loss in the beginning. (people in the 300's seem to do very well in the beginning) BUT, you'll do what you do - have no expectation, and remember, the band info says 2 pounds a week is your goal. Good Luck!!!
