6wks Post Op And Still Have Pain...wth?

Recommended Posts

U no what I'm just gonna put it out there. After doing made research and deciding to have my surgery with Dr Aceves he seemed like the best choice. Everybody had wonderful things to say and no complaints. I figured he wa the best. Well I must say surgery was I eventful, things went well, I was treated kindly and the experience was great. But I be dammed if I wasn't a week out and I started having left abdominal pain and chest pain. Thought it had resolved and now 6wks out its still here 24/7.

I can eat and drink but this damn pain is no joke. I've had blood work, CT scan, md exam and they don't see nothing. All I no is that I did not have this discomfort before surgery. I'm frustrated and annoyed. I no there is something going on. If I'm still healing when and the hell will I b healed? When and the hell will this pain go?

As y'all can tell I'm frustrated and needed to vent . I'm not saying this a complication due to my surgery.....IJS that not all of us walk away from surgery with DR Aceves without having some issues. I'm just one of the real people who will talk about it. Just cause u may go to a reputable known surgeon doesn't mean it will be a walk in the park.

Don't no how mcg more ill be coming on VST...but if u want to follow my updates check me out on You Tube MsLadyKanKan.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
