yecats 109 Posted January 2, 2012 Has anyone noticed a considerable difference in what they spend on groceries or is it a lot of the same considering the protien shakes and cost of Vitamins?

MoonSiren 48 Posted January 2, 2012 Yes I've never had this much money left after a payday before. I used to spend $500 on eating out and groceries each month but since being sleeved it is less than $100 total for December.
UXgrrl 29 Posted January 2, 2012 Last couple of months was artificially inflated because of the holidays, and because of buying supplements for the early post-op period, but I bet it will be a lot less. More money to spend on new clothes! 2 fluffylibra30 and DisappearingDivis reacted to this
illgeturhairdid 176 Posted January 2, 2012 In my case it has actually resulted in me spending a LITTLE more. I can't eat most of the things my family eats now so I have to buy stuff I can eat. I don't mind doing it because I really do feel better when I'm eating healthier. Also, as someone else mentioned you do save a ton of money on eating out. The only thing I've really gotten out and about has been $1 chili from Wendys. I did do a cheeseburge and just ate the burger and cheese once too... But for the most part you just aren't interested in that stuff anymore.
bikerchick519 202 Posted January 2, 2012 I spend less on groceries and a lot less on eating out. It's nice considering how much I used to eat out.
emily_0192010 168 Posted January 2, 2012 I still drink a Protein shake per day because I can't eat enough Protein in a day... so my portion of the grocery bill is still about the same. I am almost 4 months out, and I am hoping that within the next few months I'll be able to actually eat enough protein to ditch the shakes. My surgeon told me to just "eat when I'm hungry"... I told him i'm never hungry and he laughed and said "then don't eat!"... as long as I am getting my protein and Vitamins in, at this stage he doesn't care where I'm getting the protein in. So that is why I still have my shakes. i much prefer to drink them then to force myself to eat.
