I know I have heard many other sleevers share that they have had my issue of always being cold. Please tell me any ideas you have tried to help you stay warm. I am thinking of buying an electric blanket with a gift card I got for Christmas. Anyone else try this? It seems lately that I am super cold and it is driving my hubby crazy since he hates being hot. LOL

I'm always cold but I have down comforters. I get hot periodically and have to uncover for a few minutes. My family is totally shocked, I normally freeze them out. Hahaha lol biggrin5.gif

A heated mattress pad rather than an electric blanket. It's the same principle, just underneath you. No more sliding into a cold bed each night as I prewarm the sheets before getting in. Also, I bought cashmere/wool socks so my feet would stay warm and usually I am wearing at least 2 layers around the house.

I been getting cold a lot more too. It may have to do with losing fat in your body that once warmed you up like a polar bear's fat.

I second the heated mattress pad, prewarmed. I also only wear knee-high socks. Luckily they are fashionable right now, so I was able to stock up and find some really cute patterns. I also bought a tiny electric ceramic heater for under my desk at work. I make sure to plug it into a different plug than the computer or the IT people get mad.

I have been FREEZING since surgery. I used to get all hot and sweaty all the time, and I slept in cotton capris and tank tops with the fan on (in winter, in Minnesota), and I swear I can not get warm now. I always have a hoodie on around the house, socks, and I wear my long yoga pants to bed now. My partner huddles on the far side of the because because she fears my cold feet. Even my kids have commented on how cold my hands are.

I don't know if i buy the "less insulation" theory because I haven't lost all that much, really... just 30 lbs, and I wasn't this cold when I was 30 lbs lighter. I think our metabolisms have taken a major nosedive to coordinate with the drastically reduced calories we are eating.

Hmm, by my own logic, I should be exercising more, if I'm sick of being cold.

Dang it, I hate when I lose arguments with myself.

I love love LOVE my electric blanket! I have one that I've had since about four days post op and I couldn't live without it! I have even taken it to work with me and wrapped it around my waist and legs while at my desk. I am thinking about purchasing a second one to actually keep at the office. Or I may get the heated mattress pad and take the blanket to work... Hmm.. I like the option of having the blanket with me if I'm in the living room though. But YES, I am cold WAY more often now then I was pre-op. I asked my surgeon and he said it could take up to two years for this to stop!!! TWO YEARS!! Our bodies are rapidly losing insulation, we've had a MAJOR surgery (doctor stressed the major part), and our bodies just need time to catch up with all the changes.

I am always cold too now! My office mates have actually started betting each other on how long I last before I put my winter jacket back on and huddle at my desk...I try to get up and do some waist twists, or dance around for a few seconds, but nothing works!! At home I usually can be found with fleece pants, a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, bootie slippers, and of course a scarf. Madness I tell you!!!

Put me in the freezing category! I think hubby and I need to invest in a electric blanket. Or maybe the heated mattress pad...all of it sounds really good right now!

I love electric blankets! I have also heard some awesome things about the electric mattress pad... HOWEVER. You can only use the mattress pad at night... if you need the blanket say while watching tv on the couch? That would be helpful. Also, you said that your hubby doesn't like being warm, so with the blanket you could keep just yourself warm and not sweat him out during the night.

I also find that my problem starts once I GET cold... then I can't warm up again. So I just take extra efforts to keep from getting cold. Like I wear a sweater before I'm cold, or I snuggle with a blanket... before i'm cold. It helps me a lot. Good luck!

Good point! Warming up from cold is next to impossible! Think they make heated booties? I'm tired of ice cube toes!!

I'm ashamed to say that cold actually forced (FORCED I TELL YOU) me to buy a pair of UGGs the other day. I've always hated them, but then I put them on and their warm snuggly softness just sucked me right in. Damn them.

I actually saw a commerical for them on tv a few days ago!!! Dont remember the name but you put them in the microwave and it had some sort of a warming core. 3 pairs for 15 dollars, they come in pink. Think i will try some!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
