Thank you for the post Becca..I thought I wasthe only one feeling this way. I put my comforter in the dryer every night before bed and have my husband tuck me in....I love it... but it looks like I will be purchasing a Heating Pad and/or Heating Blanket in the very near future! I hate being cold..

I'm am also a heated blanket devotee. I got one a month ago and I'm fairly certain it saved my marriage. ;) Once I get cold the only thing that helps me is a steaming hot bath in our deep garden tub. That's how I warm up these days. I take a hot bath almost daily just to be warm. Sad. :)

I am so glad to see I am not the only one! The only thing I am fortunate at home in is that my guy tends to be cold as well. We have flannel sheets and four very heavy, thick blankets on our bed. At work, it is a constant battle for me. I have started wearing boots to work, with very thick socks. I keep sugar free hot chocolate, because that works wonders for warming me up from the inside out. I keep a nice, thick sweater at work, and, finally, I bought a small heater on eBay that I keep discreetly hid under my desk. Hey, a girl has to do what she has to do to keep warm.

I'm ashamed to say that cold actually forced (FORCED I TELL YOU) me to buy a pair of UGGs the other day. I've always hated them, but then I put them on and their warm snuggly softness just sucked me right in. Damn them.

Love it! I might have to follow your lead... :)

I'm so cold it's not even funny, and I live in south Louisiana where "cold" means it's less than 70 degrees out. Seriously. I have never felt hands colder than mine right now! LOL I'm sitting here on the couch wearing long yoga pants, camisole, long-sleeved T-shirt, fleece hoodie, thick fluffy socks, and ugg-type slippers with fleecy lining, and I'm freezing.

But y'all, I'll TAKE IT! If I'm cold every flipping day of my life from now on, I'll just learn how to layer up--it's SO WORTH IT!

My husband also saw the commercial for the "hot booties" (the name just makes me snicker) and has threatened to get me a couple of pairs for bed... currently I wear almost as many clothes to bed as I have on now, and that's with an extra thick blanket in addition to our regular bedclothes!! Ah, well, summer's coming. On the flip side, I never sweat any more--it's pretty great not to feel all icky and sweaty.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
