One. Through my belly button, using the Spider Surgical System. I suspect in the future that is how all VSGs will be done. I had no pain, soreness, feeling like I did sit ups, oozing, drain..........nothing.

Lucky you!!

I had 6, at least 3 of which I believe will be removed down the road via plastic surgery to remove what I'm sure will be a very large pennicula.

I had the single incision. There is and was no body pain. The single incision through my belly button didn't even hurt! I'm 3weeks post-op and the only pain I've had is the head hunger and struggling to eat right!

I ONLY HAVE ONE INCISION ON MY NAVEL. MY DOC SAID B4 SURGERY THAT HE MIGHT HAVE 2 DO ONE ON MY RIGHT UPPER SIDE IF NEEDED. GLAD HE DIDN'T, HE ALSO REMOVED A HUGE MOLE I HAD INSIDE MY NAVEL AND ONE RIGHT BELOW IT. MY SURGICAL GLUE IS PEELING OFF AND I CAN BARELY SEE THE CUT!

Actually a total of 8, but one (the biggest one by far) was on my backside to remove a benign tumor. The others were all small, the biggest being about 3/4". I had my gallbladder removed and a small hiatal hernia repaired, which is why I had so many. I figured if I was going under anesthesia, might as well maximize it!

I have 2. 1 through the belly button and 1 for the drain on my left side. The belly button one is still tender (I'm 6 days out) but not unbearable. The other one never hurt at all. My surgeon was so cute and said he did it through my belly button so I could wear my bikini this summer. I just laughed!

I had one stitch externally to hold my drain tube in place for a week. After it was removed, I didn't have any stitches. I am healing nicely.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
