Newbie Whos Not Very Good On The Computer!

hello everyone

So pleased to find a site just about sleevers.

Im 20 days into my sleeve so still early days for me. Ive been in quite a lot of pain around the stomach area for the last week but i think its my own fault, as just before christmas i had a bit of a tidy up at home (felt fine though) and next day i couldnt even lift my left leg to put my trousers on. I can only describe the pain as velcro being opened and closed. Have done bugger all the last 2 days and guess what, tummy pain has eased, thank god.

Have any of you done too much and then paid the price, how long before you felt better?

Also i have a job which involves lifting and am wondering if 6 weeks will be long enough.

kim xx

Stuck, do be careful in the first few weeks. I was not supposed to lift over 10-15 lbs for 3 months, but I think that was ultra conservative. However, if your job involves lifting, your employer should be aware of this surgery and you should get a doctor's release to go back to your old activity level. Is that how they do things in England? In my job, if you are off work for more than 3 days for any reason, you have to have a doc's statement to go back to work. Best wishes on your journey...Kathe

PS - You may need to change your name soon. You're definitely not stuck any more!!

I don't do any lifting on my job and my doctor still kept me out of work for five weeks for a full recovery, though I had zero complications of any kind. It's local norms somewhat, but I do think when possible, people should really take as much time as they need to be REALLY ready to get back to work. Good luck!!
