My New Year's Wishes For You, My Sleeve Family....

Recommended Posts

Okay, so those who know me (even a little), you know I'm a softie.. cream puff.... and I LOVE people!! So, I just wanted to share a few of my New Year's wishes that I have for you... my sleeve family...

I pray the New Year brings:

  • Strength for you to conquer any challenge set before you, whether a stall, slow insurance approval or friends/family who don't get it!
  • A greater feeling of confidence and love for who you are inside and out, regardless of the acknowledgement from others
  • More opportunities for you to surround yourself with positive people who Celebrate you and not just tolerate you... You are wonderful and you should hear it OFTEN
  • Favor and blessings beyond your wildest dreams, so that you will know that you are loved, you are a gift and you are AMAZING!!
  • Finally, I pray that you will have an opportunity to encourage someone who is struggling w/ their weight and/or suffering needlessly w/ obesity related illnesses, to at least THINK about and research VSG... You are a witness to how life changing this surgery is... Share it with someone who needs it!!!

My love, hugs and best wishes to each of you and your families as we close a very eventful year and enter a new one filled w/ possibility, opportunity and greatness....

A new year is like a clean canvas in the hands of an artist... what masterpiece will you paint??!!!

Love you guys!!!

Tina

Love it, and all the same to you. I'm very excited for my journey. This site has been such a wonderful resource for me. I truly enjoy reading about everybodies victories and stories. I don't feel as alone with this struggle and love that so many here get it and have the same hopes and fears I do. Much love.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
