kristine34 5 Posted December 29, 2011 Hello all, My name is Kristine I am 34 years old happly married with four children. I have been looking into Bypass surgrey for a couple years now. Highest weight was 315 lowest 120 current 215 at 5'2. I have been thick all my life and over the past few years I have had some tragic events happen to where i no longer cared. My husband and i have tried to have another baby since 2007 all ending in misscarrage 3 total with a set of twins. In 2009 we had a daughter that was born with severe conginital defects and she passed away at 8 months April 2, 2010 (Good Friday no less). Well this year we were able to have a perfect little boy went into labor on the 1 year anniversary of my daughters death. i held him in there for one more day. Well since he came i have decided to go through with getting the surgery and start my new life for myself, children and husband. I have decided to stop looking at all the bad and cherrish all that is good to me and look forward. My surgery is set for January 16th with Dr. Taylor in Yspi. MI. I am so excited to the point of almost obsessive lol. My husband and children are extremely supportive. My oldest daughter (14) is an extreme athlete and health nut. She cant wait to have all the Protein drinks in the house she would live on those and the bars if i let her. My oldest boy (16) just wants me happy and my other daughter (9) is my happy little chuncky monkey and i hope when shes sees mommy eating right she will do the same. the baby is 8 months so all he will ever know is a skinny hot mama. My husband is tall dark handsom and has the body that belongs on a calander lol i tell all my friend that im going from a hot mess to a hot mama lol. I read all your post on here and have got so much ifo it isnt even funny. i cant wait to join the losers bench.
New in 2012 14 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi Kristine, and welcome! I think you will be pleased with your decision. As you point out, you're taking care of yourself by going forward, and that is good for your kids to see. Are you doing a pre-op diet? Good luck with that, if you are. It definitely jump starts the process and you start feeling good even sooner.

kristine34 5 Posted December 29, 2011 Thank you both i have not started the pre op diet. Im going to start after the first of the year my BMI is under 40 and the dr doesnt want it to get under 35 for surgery cuz insurance can cancel on surgery date. if im not mistaking is it kinda like the adkins minus the fat? utopianaurora 1 Posted December 29, 2011 Hiya Neighbor! I live in ypsi too! I can't even imagine all of the tragedy you have been through but i think you are making a good decision for you and for your family. You already did an amazing job losing before to get where you are now. The liquid diet is a pain, but it is helping to shrink your liver and get on the road to weight loss. Go you!!! New in 2012 14 Posted December 29, 2011 I think pre-op diets vary. Mine was just what you describe -- Atkins-like minus the fat. Some folks are required to do full liquids before surgery. I think either way it is good to get started in that direction. The liver is the big issue and shrinking it makes the surgery easier for the surgeon and for your safety. Good luck! Keep us posted!
