We had dinner one night (I didn't have that much) and then there was leftovers for him for lunch the next day. he said it was better leftover! It doesn't make as much as you would think. It's not that deep. definietley worth 19.99 at World Market!

Thank you. The closest one to me is in Ilinois. I would just like to go in and look around. I look forward to trying new recipes pre and post op.

HI,

Since I am only cooking for me, how much will I have left over? Or would this not be the ideal way to cook for an individual?

'

think 4-5 portions- depending on sides and or how your tummy is-

Tonight I ate more than my wife- usually she eats more than I, though I seem to eat 4 meals.

tonight I used canned chili beans- and mini chicken sausages from costco-

(chili dogs) nice high Protein count- took less than and hour- everything was pre cooked. except the salad we had before-

So it would be a few days worth. I like left overs...is that a no-no here...but after a few days I'm like okay I'm done with that. I suppose freezing would be an option too. Thanks Chef Neil

RFC-

hi-

no-

I put it all in together.

Tonight I made chicken sate-

chicken, bellpepper, onion, garlic and cilantro.

3 tsp chicken sate sauce and a little water-

when finished, I stirred in a little peanutbutter to thicken sauce.

:)

sounds good to me!

tonight I took an onion, 4 little sweet peppers, 3 stalks of celery, all diced and dry sauteed then added beef broth and red wine.

then I took a can of low sodium /fat-cream of celery Soup and added in pre cooked turkey meatballs. 1 .5 hours and it was divine!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
