Quoting meg ryan... YES< YES< YES

Yes, you will be able to eat this food again, just not in large quantities. I have had wings, street tacos, Indian food, jalenpenos (although not as many whole as before), BBQ, popcorn with butter, all of it.

Nothing is forbidden any more. Because of this beautiful sleeve I can easily control quantities.

Love this sleeve and being at goal. Patience to those of you in the process. Your time will come, sooner than you ever dreamed! Promise.

Well, that explains it...I've been in food porn mode since Christmas. I watch the Cooking Chanel and reading cook books. My husband asked me last night why I'm watching the Cooking Chanel...I didn't have an answer for him.. I never thought of it as part of the addiction. OH MY GOSH!

As for cravings...I want a turkey meatball with marinara sauce. Heck, I never made turkey meatballs...how strange!

Yes! So much food porn...but it's weird. I got into cooking about 6 months before surgery, and while I am still finding my way, I have been drooling over websites like Eggface, and Skinny tastes. I NEVER knew there were so many decently healthy things to make that look so darn yummy!

So now I find myself looking forward to being able to start a whole new eating phase, making these wonderful low cal/ low carb dishes for myself (and let's be real, my friends, cause I won't be able to eat it all!)

AWWW, Im so hot right now. LOL Ok I'll jump in

We have a place in CT called Franklin Giant Grinders. It's a little Italian hole in the wall with the best sandwiches in the state. Once a week I would buy a whole combo (honey ham and smoked turkey) piled high with fresh lettuce and italian peepers and eat the WHOLE thing. Mind you this thing was about 18' long and 4-5' high. I guess thats how I avoid them, thinking of me sitting in my recliner in a meat coma is not a picture i care to re-develop.

MMMMM, food porn, is it hot in here, or is it just me? LOL.

I love popcorn and whenever I go to the movies, I have some. As for wings and other spicy foods, I am a chili head. I love hot, hot, hot wings and other spicy food, and my sleeve doesn't seem to mind it one bit. My motto, everything in moderation!

I've always enjoyed cooking shows but since the sleeve, I've become addicted. I thought it was weird. It doesn't seem like torture because I know I wouldn't be able to eat much even if I cooked it. My favorite food that I miss is pupusas. It's a traditional El Salvadoran food that my daughter and I first ate on a youth missionary trip there. It's a sort of corn meal outer crust with pork and chesse inside that you pull apart and dip in salsa. Heavenly.

The sleeve is a wonderful tool.. you will be able to eat all of these foods once again. Anything you can think of. So dreaming of the day when you can again is fine! You won't have to miss it forever. I do love my sleeve!!!

For those of you craving pickles, depending on your food stage, check with your nutritionist - when I was on mushies/purees I was allowed to make tuna salad with dill relish and a little mayo. I used a LOT of dill relish because I love it. I eat pickles a lot now - the sodium is high, but it's a good low-cal snack and gives me a good crunch. Now my mouth is watering and I might have to go get one out of the fridge. :)

PEPSI!!

food I know I can have again. Not the same quantity, but I can't think of anything I really love that I wouldn't allow myself at least a bite of.

But Pepsi is a different thing. I know that I will never be able to even have one sip again. For me that would certainly start the ball rolling down a very slippery slope.

I watch the cooking channel all the time....MY fav is Chopped and the Next Iron Chef (bummer who won was not my fav guy boo). I have enjoyed hot wings (though it only takes 1-2 to fill me up now) and tacos with jalapenos (but tortillas fill me up in an uncomfortable way so I mostly eat the Beans, guac yumyum and sour cream and chicken) I can eat popcorn too but much much less than before sleeve.

You will still be able to enjoy food just will be eating alot less and more Protein and less of the bread etc.

It's all good....:).......like Guy says, "winner, winner, chicken dinner!" LOLOL lurk5.gif

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
