I have been gaining a little weight in the past couple of days. The only thing I started was drinking low calorie gatorade. Water is not comfortable for me to drink so I wanted in increase my Fluid intake. So I started drinking low calorie gatorade. I am having fears that my weight loss was temporary and I will gain the weight back. I went back to a semi liquid diet with Soups, Protein Drinks. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this the 3 week stall?

No worries, take deep breath and try to relax! I lose this way as well. I will drop a few pounds then it comes back up for about a week and then it drops back down and is gone forever untill the next time. At first it freaked me out but then I discovered the pattern and have learned to just roll with it. Try to be patient and watch for your own losing pattern. We are all so very different and losing will come when our bodies decide it is ok to let go of the fat. I lived on low cal gatorade for the first couple of months and now I use Mio flavoring because I can't drink plain Water (makes my tummy hurt). You are doing great! Keep up the great work and stay healhy!

How far out are you?

How often do you weigh yourself? Don't do it daily, you'll drive yourself crazy watching the scale bounce around. For some reason, a lot of people believe every day should be a loss, but the body just doesn't work that way.

I am 11 weeks out. I was only weighing myself every few days until I had a couple ounce weight gain. It freaked my out :( and made me fearful. I haven't experienced any stalls yet (that I know of). I really appreciate the feed back.

Agreed with PDXman... I would weigh myself daily during weight loss - but please note - I didn't let it get me down. I guess I was able to handle it, I never let it get me in a tailspin. If it's causing you to panic and feel like you're failing then it's probably not a good idea.

I didn't let it make me panic because I knew my body will go through Water fluctuations every single day, based on what I ate (salty?) if I worked out hard (body repairing itself), what time of the day it is even...

If it works better for you perhaps 1x per week would be better. Pick the same day of the week (Monday? Weekend eating...) and do it first thing in the AM, after bathroom break and with undies on. That would be IMO a more accurate picture of how you're doing.

ETA: Stress factors in too! I think a lot of folks forget about this. Stressing about what the scale says every day isn't a good thing and can help keep the weight on. Just remember, the weight scale is only a tiny piece of a huge puzzle that is YOUR journey. ;)

It could be just Water weight. It's common to stall or gain a few lbs, but it usually comes right off and then some. Just make sure you stick with the program and you should be fine ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

Gatorade's full of sodium, it's an electrolyte replacement drink. It's Water weight. How about trying Crystal Light?

Thank you all for all your feedback. I have tried crystal light l time and didn't care for it. I think I'll try it again. :)

I agree that there's a good chance that it's Water weight from the sodium in the gatorade. It could be so many other factors too - close to your time of the month, general weight fluctuation, etc. I do also weigh myself every day but only "officially" count my Monday morning weight (and that's what I log on my tracker). I don't worry about slight fluctuations through the week.

Any non-caffeinated, sugar-free beverage will count towards your liquids, so experiment a little with other options. If you like iced tea, buy Decaf tea bags and make your own - that's one of my favorite things to drink with a little splenda and a squeeze of lemon.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
