I gained a quarter pound and I'm so upset by it. No excuses, I didn't exercise last week AND I had a few extra tastes of some Christmas treats...but seeing that scale go UP again, just like pre-sleeve, shook me up like I wasn't expecting. Now to just use this as inspiration to keep going and not give up as I would have in the past.

Don't give up! We've all come so far. Forgive yourself and continue on. In the past I've always been like, "well I blew it today so I might as well have some more of this or that". Don't do it. Look at how far you've come and keep going. We can do this!!

Thank you Debbie! I'm an August 2011 sleever also..and yes, we've come so far. I won't give up, but I think I needed to 'talk' about it to help me feel better. Thanks again!

Ateam...I know I shouldn't let it get me down..I've been very fortunate that I never had a stall..for the first time in over four months, the scale went UP instead of down and it shocked me a bit. I'll get busy at the gym this week and hope for a better weigh-in next month. :)

You will be totally fine! Try and stay positive and just amp-up your workouts for a while. The gain, like someone else said, could be caused by anything really. It doesn't really mean you gained any fat, it's honestly probably just Water. Keep up the good work and stay positive! I have been in a stall since 2.5 weeks post-op and I am still stuck and I am almost 1 month post-op.. During this time the scale has fluctuated anywhere from 1-5 pounds UP and down. It kills me everytime I step on the scale, it's like my body refuses to go under 220 pounds. This is a time I always get stuck during and and all of my diets. I am doing what LilMissDiva has posted about Bootcamp something or another. It's basically a way to get yourself back on track when things seemed to have strayed. You might wanna check it out too. Good Luck.

Aaww, Honey, don't be discouraged. A quarter pound isn't bad. Like some of the others have said it could be any number of reasons why you gained. That great thing is it's motivated you to continue in your journey and has encouraged you to work out. Be encouraged and keep up the good work!

1/4 of pound?? Why, that sounds like dust motes on the scale lol Girl you will be fine! Is your scale in the same spot? My weight can fluctuate 1-3 pounds depending on the spot of the floor. I've made sure I keep it in the same tile all the time.

Don't let the scale control you. It happens far too often. We go from letting food control us to allow that stupid scale to control our lives. The scale will fluctuate for ever. The rest of your life that scale will go up and down. You can do everything perfect and still see the scale go up and sometimes you can go totally crazy eating crap foods and see the scale go down. Just go based on how you feel, don't let the scale rule you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
