The obvious goal is to lose weight! I'm on track for that. So the other goals are:

1. Exercise. Unlike most of you, I have no interest in running a marathon or a 5K. (I couldn't anyway due to a knee problem.) But I'm thrilled for all of you runners! I do want to exercise more and firm up as I lose the weight, probably through martial arts and dancing.

2. Declutter my life -- I'm finding that as I begin to make changes, I see other places in my life that have suffered from excess, and my goal in 2012 is to simplify, find a harmonious order to my daily rhythm, and get rid of the stuff that I have around me. I guess that I have not only used food in the past; I have also acquired too much unnecessary stuff in my life. So I want to focus on what I truly need and less on what I want. I plan to lighten up in every way!!!

3. Continue to give back -- I do a lot of volunteer work, and I hope to do even more in 2012. No better way to have perspective in life that to be involved in the lives of others who are in need in some way.

4. Honor God

I'm so excited for 2012!! It's going to be a great year!

1. Lose the last 77 lbs to be at my goal.

2. Exercise 4 - 5 days a week.

3. Run (being the operative word) at least one 10K and as many 5K's as I can find.

4. Stop shopping (I don't need anymore clothes, I have them in multiple sizes now).

5. Stop using credit cards (will be easy if I do #4).

I started doing this today. Told my hubby that enough was enough and some things just gotta go! lol I am also gonna start organizing the house and keeping it that way. I think that the idea to lighten up in every way is a great one!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
