Buffalo Bound this weekend!

I actually called it Opti-hell. :)

I sold my leftovers to a gal from calgary, and she was scared to try it from my 'reviews', but ended up liking it! I think the yogurt/cottage cheese thing would probably not be so bad for a couple days, but end up being just as tedious. I don't like yogurt though. :)

I gotta say..I didn't find Optifast that bad at all (I did that about 3 or 4 yrs ago).

My husband (chef) did some AMAZING flavourful things with the optifast!

Okaaaay, back now!!!

I think we bought out Target...but oh well!!!!

Had a great time....

However, we got pulled over my customs going INTO the US....and they searched our car. First time that has ever happened to me. They said we were "randomly picked by the computer" WHATEVER!!!! Anyways, we pulled over, got out of the car and they only spent 5 mins searching...sorta half-heartedly. Not like we had anything to hide anyways!!! haha....(at least it wasn't like when I vacationed in Columbia and on my way home, the Columbian military searched the entire contents of my bag...even stuck their fingers into my noxzema jar....grosss....keep it, thanks!).

Coming back to Canada was a breeze....

Anyways....as I said, we had a great time....I had a WONDERFUL meal at TGIFridays....

Visited the inlaws on the way home and that went well also.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
