Oh girl, let me tell you my story. I have been shopping in the plus sizes since I was 18. I am now 45. I have always love Kohls. I will never forget about a year and a half ago when my daughter and I went shopping one evening there. She headed for the juniors department, and as always, I headed for the plus size department. I picked out a few outfits and when I tried them on, they were too big. So, I went down a few sizes and they were still too big. Then I realized that everything in the plus size section was too big for me. I panicked because I just knew everything in the "normal" size section would be too small, and I love Kohls and was afraid I wouldn't be able to shop there anymore. But, for hoots and giggles I wandered on over to where the "normals" get their clothes, picked out a few things and headed for the dressing room. OH MY GOSH!!! I couldn't believe it, they fit! My daughter came looking for me and found me sitting on the floor of the dressing room balling my eyes out. She was terrified something awful had happened. Then, when I told her I was crying because I was so happy about finally being able to wear regular sizes, she was so happy for me she cried too. I remember calling my son, my parents, anyone who would listen, because I was so excited. That is a moment and a feeling I will never, ever forget.

Thank you guys for all the support, i am literally tearing up right now!!! I can truthfully say i love you guys already! Yes i cant wait to finally be able to go shopping n fit into the "Junior size" lol no more 1x, 2x lol... "One day at a time" i need to remember to breath lol... Thank You All!!!

i cant waaaaait to eat pasteles!

You will soon! I wasn't able to eat it on Thanksgiving so I made sure to try on Noche Buena. I purposely let it boil a little longer so it was "kinda" mushy and it was perfect!

Today, "asopao de pollo" was AWESOME!!!!!! I am in shock and thrilled it went down well. I can't wait to read all of your posts about the regional foods you and the other gals were able to eat!

LOL Lissa, actually I think it is an acquired taste kind of dish. They are difficult to make. Most people buy them frozen for the holidays and boil them right before serving. They are the size of a deck of cards. The outside part (the acquired taste) is made out of ground up plantains and or cassava and other roots. The color is not the most pleasant. The inside is stuffed with delicious seasoned meats like pork, chicken, ground beef etc. It is all wrapped in banana leaves.

If you feel adventurous, call your closest latin market in Port St. Lucie and buy one for about $2.00. Boil it in salted Water for 1 hour (I think) and you are good to go. You will at least like the Protein inside. Hope you try it! smile.png

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
