Thanks everyone. I'm headed to the ER and I'm hoping and praying it's not anything worst than severe gas pains. But I can't help but be nervous. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks fOr the love and support. I feel it!!!!

DOn't let them treat you without an EKG and a chest xray - EKG eliminates heart problems, and hopefully chest xray will catch any emerging infections...

....BE REALLY CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH MORE THINGS THAN NECESSARY!!! You are post surgery and having a complication as it it...you do not need to contract MRSA or anything else. I would ask for a mask as soon as you walk in, and take you own antibacterial goo - on the way home, go buy some hibiclens from a pharmacy or Walmart, and give yourself a basin bath wit about 1 oz to 2 quarts Water - hibiclens is chlorhexidine gluconate - avoid eyes, ears, etc. use it in diluted form.

<<<ex Funderal Director and (now) somewhat germaphobe :/

Hey everyone! Just got back from the ER. Well apparently after 4-5 long hours, the doctors realized that my drain pipe was messing with one of the incisions. When I lay down or just sit the drain pipe was forcing its way to where the stitching was. That was what was causing the pain and dizziness. So he took the drain out. Usually it doesnt happen until a week after but in my case I had no more drainage so that was a good thing. All in all I'm okay. Thanks for sending the love and support!!!!! It means a lot

I am so glad you were able to figure out what was causing your pain and that it was a fixable complication. Sorry you had to go through that! Hope it goes smoothly from here!

Glad to hear that's all it was! I know dizziness is a very scary feeling. :) Big big hugs and healing prayers go out to you. Good for you on getting yourself to the ER immediately. Though the issue was easily remedied who knows how it wouldve turned out if you didn't get that checked ASAP.

:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
