LaurieJane 0 Posted July 26, 2006 I have a mid band that was put in on May 29th 2006. I have lost 27 pounds so far but the last few weeks have been almost nothing. I find that I can eat more so I am having a fill in a week. I notice if I am under stress I can't eat without P'bing. Then other days i can eat a full plate. Has anyone had a mid band filled? Magic 0 Posted August 7, 2006 Hello there, Its good I came across your thread. Yes I have the mid-band, and I'm very happy with it. I just got my first fill about a month ago, I've lost 3 kilos since, but I guess I haven't lost as much as I wish since the doctor was easy on my first fill and didn't want to fill the band a lot. PamRN 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I also have the midband. It will be 2 years in Sept. I am going for my first fill since surgery next month, but I've been needing one for several months. I lost almost 90 pounds but lost all restriction around march and have gained back over 20. I was given a 6cc fill at surgery, but I think either I've somehow lost it or my stomach really shrank! Jammin & Losin 1 Posted August 9, 2006 Is the mid band the same as the vangard band??? Or what is the difference??
PamRN 0 Posted August 9, 2006 The Midband is the french band from Lyons, France. It's a completely pliable band with no hard or sharp areas. It is said to have little or no erosion risk, and so far has a much lower reported incidence of slippage than american bands. It is not FDA approved, so american aftercare is nearly nonexistent. LaurieJane 0 Posted August 9, 2006 I had 2 ccs put in after my surgery, but when I went to get a fill on the 4th of august the Doc told me I only had 1/2 cc. he said it might have stayed in port tube or whatever. I was filled with 2 cc's again but I am not real tight. I have lost a total of 30 in 2 months so I am happy.

Trace Curry 1 Posted August 10, 2006 I have a Midband patient who wants a fill but I can't figure out if you can just use saline in it - can you folks shed some light for me? Yoda 0 Posted August 10, 2006 I do believe it is merely saline in my fill.
PamRN 0 Posted August 11, 2006 My midband fill is 50% saline with 50% iopamidol. The midband initially had problems with osmosis, and Fluid shifting into the bands causing overfills, so the bands were reconfigured and the fill solution reformulated.
LaurieJane 0 Posted August 11, 2006 you can go to a web site for midbands and they will show you what it looks like.
