Unable To Exercise O:(

Recommended Posts

You can do this. Start slow with what is comfortable and increase it everyday. It is human nature to be driven by results so if you start slow, increase your walking, throw in some resistance band training, you will see results and that will drive you to continue. Please read my blog, www.kemo46.blogspot.com . I hated exercise but ever since seeing the results from it, I cannot stop. I get more intense with it and finding different forms of exercise. I am getting ready to start the P90X program and I would have never been able to do that. It all started with walking a little each day after surgery. I was not allowed to do anything other than walk for 6 weeks. I then bought a bike and started adding that in the mix. I then started going to the gym to add some strength training, it all adds up. I was the person that never exercised. The key is finding out what you enjoy and doing it. The results will keep you motivated.

I am a big time walker I love it and it definitely works for me. Start slowly if your leg prevents you from walking at a brisk pace then walk on hills. Same with the treadmills you can burn just as many calories as a runner with a bit of an incline.

For various reasons that I won't get into (some are valid health reasons and some are excuses), I have done absolutely no exercise of any kind since my surgery. Nothing. None at all. I'm not sure if it hurt my weight loss a lot, but as of today I've lost 76.8 lbs and my goal is to lose 77 lbs. So will lack of exercise kill your weight loss? I doubt it.

The thing is I now have no muscle tone, I've lost some muscle, and I feel crappy. I've tried to manage by eating well and I've done a pretty good job with that. The activity is just so important, though. You don't have to train for a marathon. Walking is enough. I felt better before my surgery when I was more active than I do now after 6 months of being a couch potato. It would be a shame for you to get the body you want, but have no energy to go do anything with it.

There are many exercises you can do right in your home sitting on your couch. Pick up some hand weights and one of those large rubber bands at Target and you can do a TON of stuff. Yoga and stretch are also ways you can get a workout in. Search the web for stationary exercises or band exercise. There are always options for any person's situation. Cheap, too! http://www.band-exercises.net/

These are good ideas. That helps me with my situation too. Thank you!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
