3 Days post Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Clear Sailing!

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days out with the new stomache (VSG) and clear sailing.. Pain and discomfort are way down.. I ma not only able to get the full ammount of Protein in me.. but havent had any of the dreaded, pains, twangs, spasms, and or other discomfort that many people report on. Is this unheard of? I took out the pain pump today.. and I have had no discomfort to speak of.. I am eating liquids..Jello.. Protein shakes .. and today I was able to eat some Microwaved egg whites with no issues.. I am drinking Soup broth etc.. thinking about holding at this level for a few days and if no issue will move onto soft foods..

anyone ever have these sort of results.. input -- feedback?

Wow! You are doing great!!! I am 4 days days out, pretty much pain free. Can't seem to get all my fluids and Proteins in though. If you don't mind me asking, what has your eating plan been like?

Make sure you are following your food plan set forth by your nutritionist and surgeon. At this point after surgery your healing staple line and stomach are still likely very numb, so you don't want to overdo it because you "feel" OK.

I was able to comfortably start on my Protein shakes on day 4 (maybe 5?) and didn't have any problem tolerating the shakes or full liquids I was allowed to have, but I wasn't allowed eggs or other soft foods for close to a month.

Just make sure you're following your plan, but it sounds like you're having a good recovery!

Yes, be careful with the new food introduction. Definitely follow the directions given by the doctor. I remember at this time able to have strained cream Soups, that were heaven to me. Kepp up the good work, and stay hydrated.
