Weight Loss And Lack Of Sleep Correlation?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if there is a link between not getting enough sleep and stalling? I have always read that sleep deprivation can cause you to gain weight and/or not lose any but I wonder if that applies to us sleevers. I have lost only one pound since Thanksgiving and since then have been averaging about 4 hours sleep every night. I have never been one to sleep more than 6 to 6 1/2 hours and when I do, I feel groggy all day. Lately, I have not been able to get to bed earlier than midnight and I get up around 4:00 am to get ready for work.

Does anyone have any info on whether this could be causing my stall?

Shae

Yes, lack of sleep and weigh or obesity and stalling when losing weight can be tied together: You can site the below link and it takes to others also, there are many clinical trials behind these articles.

I am not vouching for every link on this page, of course, but there is alot of information there.

Do not forget diabeties, early onset dimensia, increased chanses of inflammation, lack of focus, depression, and children that are not made to develop regular healthy sleep patterns are less likely to do well in school - that is not all, but dang! I's enough! Lol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
