Any Oklahoma Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Good luck with everything' date=' Kimmy. The sleep study is NOT fun, but tolerable. You will just go home and go to sleep. Your six months will be up before you know it. Hang in there..... :)[/quote']

I liked the 2nd night of the sleep study... When they put the mask on. I had never slept so good

Hi fellow Okies!! I'm getting sleeved with Dr. Broussard tomorrow. I'm on my one day of Clear Liquids before the surgery, and I have so much more sympathy for the folks who were required to be on weeks of liquids!!! It's been just 8-10 hours of clear liquids and I already just want the surgery over with so I can get to some solid food again :) It's good to know there are several of us that have used WeightWise, and it seems like it's been a generally positive experience!

Good luck, OKSleever! I had a great experience with Dr. B. He did my surgery 3 weeks ago tomorrow. The surgery will likely be the easiest part of your journey. The adjustments it causes you to make, that the hard part...at least that has been my experience thus far.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!! Surgery went fairly smoothly; they found a liver lesion they think is benign but otherwise it went perfectly. Tolerating liquids really well, walking every chance I get, and hope to go home later today! Love WeightWise and Dr. B; would recommend them to anyone!!!!

Hi, aonthehill!! I'm still in my 6 month diet as well. They are thinking a July surgery for me. How far are you into yours? Where are you going to be having surgery?

It is the best craziest ride you will ever take. I have loved my journey every day since surgery date 1/8/13

Ditto to Kimmy's post! And personally I have my last appt with my NUT b4 surgery on May 2nd all of my pre-op appts are done and info submitted to the surgeons office so that after that appt they will be able to send everything off to insurance. We are thinking last week of may or first week of June for me... Every day my mood about it changes a little happy, excited, scared, ready to get it over with!!! I hope that I am one of the one's saying this is the best decision I could have made.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
