hi vicki- i'm only 3 days post-op. Luckily haven't had diarriah issues. (yet) i am scared of that happening. i walk throughout the house to "keep things moving" as the dr. says. i walk back and forth a couple of times, then rest, few minutes later i'm taking "my walk" around the house again do this several times a day.clap2.gif I know this doesn' soundcouch2.gif like much, but its better than being a couch potato watching tv couch2.gif (ie. The View & Dr. Phil)wof.gif

Haven't ever been big on exercise, so these little jaunts around the house, aren't much, but better than nothing I think. i do have a nice tread mill that i will ride again before the new here. that will be really great.

I was sleeved on 11/14 & had issues there too... Mine only happened a couple times but I figured it was because of the fact that I was living on liquids LOL. liquids in, liquids out. Once I went to the mashies stage that wasn't an issue anymore, the exact opposite actually!

If it gets too bad call your dr cuz you can get dehydrated.

Vickie, are you drinking milk or eating dairy products? I had diarrhea issues really bad until I figured out my tummy can't handle milk right now.

My doc's office told me to add cheese to my diet when I had a bad round of it two weeks ago, but I used Beans and bananas instead. I do eat cheese and it doesn't bother Rex (my sleeve), but I don't push it with milk when my tummy is upset.

Good luck!! :)

According to my surgeon, that's pretty standard. He said there's kind of a diarrhea-constipation-diarrhea-constipation cycle that goes on for a while, and then it all eventually works itself out. I suspect that the working itself out part must happen when you get to start eating real food, because I haven't gotten there yet.

The doctor said you can take immodium if you need it, but that he generally tells people to let it take its course. He also said you can take colace for Constipation.< /p>

I was sleeved on Dec. 14th and today (Jan. 16th) was the first day I have had a solid looking stool. My doctor said it takes awhile sometimes especially when you still have so much gas in your system.

It will get better the longer you are out from surgery. Any kind of surgery / anasthesia is upsetting to the "poop" system. Compound that witht the radical change in our diets pre-surgery to post-surgery, and no wonder our systems are out of whack for a while.

The more liquid and soft your diet going into your system is, the softer and looser your stools will be coming out. And I agree with jhwkgr's doctor - I had a diarrea / Constipation thing going on for a while. Then I had to figure out what my system would take to be regular after I got onto regular food. (Plenty of liquids, Benefiber and Miralax). I know at 18 days out, I had to be very cautious about passing gas (or what I THOUGHT was gas).

Good Luck - hope things settle down for your soon.

I'm lactose-intolerant post-surgery. I can have firm cheeses and yogurt, but milk, ice cream, and cottage cheese upset my tummy. I had runny poo the first few weeks post-op, but it got way better after I cut the milk and cottage cheese out of my diet. I went from going every couple of hours with gas pains throughout the day to minimal gas and going 3-4 times per day, slowly returning to once a day somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks out.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
