twoboysandagirl 109 Posted December 18, 2011 I am one year out and just had my first stomach bug since being sleeved. It totally kicked my butt. I almost passed out at one point, sure from lack of fluids. Two of my kids had the bug too but they didn't get as sick as I did... SO I am wondering, did it hit me so hard because I am sporting a tiny stomach? Anyone?
cutie pie 71 Posted December 18, 2011 I could see how you could say that... Especially since it is hard to take in fluids. Hope you get well soon...
Puja 148 Posted December 18, 2011 Yes, definitely! Your body doesn't have the same nutrition reserves that a person without surgery does. You are giving your body the minimum requirements to be healthy and function optimally. Ever notice how one or two days with less liquids or nutrition totally brings your energy levels down? Drink some gatorade or pedialyte. Hydrate yourself with liquids that will help restore your electrolytes.
UXgrrl 29 Posted December 18, 2011 Eeewww.... I am dreading my first encounter with the stomach flu post-surgery... I bet it's really awful. I'll make sure I stay hydrated if/when it hits...
