Canadian Challange

Recommended Posts

Ya, I'm one of those people that there bodies react well to stuff. Like when I eat garbage I can gain really quickly. However, it works the other way too, so I'm hoping when I add the exercise in and really challenge myself it will pay off. Hey it's worth a try. My birthday is in September, and I really want to feel great, not that I don't already, I want to feel greater!!:Banane56:

my surgeon wanted me doing 30 mins every day starting during my pre-op, and starting the day after surgery, as much as I could till I got back up to 30 minutes again. Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I kinda haven't started yet:guess .

So I have a swimming pool and a treadmill. Im going to try to do 22, 30 minute walks on the treadmill, and swim just whenever I can, which isnt really hard considering where in this heatwave right now.:bananapartyhat:

You have a swimming pool? Oooh, I'm jealous. I'd swim if I didn't have to do it in public!

Kim, if you search google for "BMI calculator' you'll find lots of places where you can just type in your height and weight, and it'll tell you what you are. You said you were 5'9" and 320, I think... right? I'll check it out for you right now.........

47.3 is what I got for ya. I went here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

I'm all for a good challenge. I've been terribly unmotivated lately...I need a kick in the pants.

Not interested in the aforementioned "sexercise" idea, though. I don't find it burns many calories to stare at the ceiling looking bored.;)

...but I guess, I couldn't reach the fridge...so maybe. LOL

Is anyone joining the Gone for Good Club this month? We are focusing on trying to get our BMI's down some. Love to see you there, too!

Have you decided what this challenge would be yet?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
