Paola 62 Posted December 15, 2011 I am a little concerned about my hair post-op, I already feel like I am losing some. I think my hair is more like a security blanket, before I would always say "at least I have nice hair". Anyone else feels like this? I guess I can always get a wig, maybe I'll look good as a redhead =P
hadouni 301 Posted December 15, 2011 Do you have children and if so did you experience much Hair loss post-partum? I imagine it will be similar to that... I'm not looking forward to it either!
Paola 62 Posted December 15, 2011 No children, my mom says I am like her, stress makes me lose hair. Thats like a vicious cycle, you stress you lose hair, you see the Hair loss you stress more >.<
PdxMan 4,292 Posted December 15, 2011 I thought I was going to be fine. Thick, dark hair ... took all my Vitamins ... got my Protein and then some ... about two weeks shy of 5 months, it started coming out. I'm a week past and it is still coming out. Thinnest it's been in years, but so am I, so ... I'll take it.
hunydew2262 7 Posted December 16, 2011 A patient who has a lap band said her doc told her to take 1500mcgs of Biotin daily. Check with your doctor first. It is a Water soluble Vitamin so you probably can't get too much, but always check before starting a new drug. HD
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted December 16, 2011 I am at 4 months. I thought I was out of the woods. It just started falling out like mad 3 weeks ago. I am finding hair everywhere. My hair is/was my security blanket too. It is long and naturally blonde. But the good news is IT GROWS BACK. If getting thin and healthy means I lose half my hair for a few months-- it will be worth it! Do what you can to prevent this-- take your Vitamins, Biotin, use nioxin etc. Prepare for the worst. We will be ok!!!!!
