Fluid Choices For Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery Healing...

Recommended Posts

I was merely pointing out that you have stores all over your town, with one even called Complete Health Services Ideal Protein Centre. But you don't even want to try those options. As is noted in several other posts on this topic and echoed in my initial post, what works for one person is not necessarily going to work for another. My cousin loves isopuke. Everybody's tastes are different. It is going to require a search. But, if you feel your taste buds won't tolerate the best of what Saskatoon can carry, then by all means, go online and order samples. But it may be beneficial to you to have something local because you truly will not know until after your surgery. Will you have something you can tolerate? How long to ship more of it to your home?

As long as you find what works for you, that is what is important. As with any endevour, to have success, one must set themselves up for success.

It wasn't so much of having a bad day as it was straw breaking the camel's back of posts stating that a person can't handle Protein shakes, but has tried only one and isn't willing to go around searching for what may work for them. The boards, including OH, are littered with them. I struggled with protein, too, early on. Having one I loved pre-op and couldn't stomach post, I finally found one that worked, but it was still difficult to get the required amount in. It was probably week 3 before I was able to do so, but I kept trying. I can see how it could be an easy trap to fall into and I sincerely want us all to succeed in this. Maybe some are luckier than others, but I do believe we can help create our own luck with preparation.

If you wouldn't mind, could you read my post here? Thanks:

I wish the best of luck to you in this.

I have a surgery center (Kaiser Richmond) that is 100%, unabashedly, militantly, ANTI-PROTEIN-SHAKE. My surgeon said I won't suffer or not heal from not having enough Protein the first few weeks. It seems like the biggest reason he could give me was that people use it as a crutch...but seriously...is there any other way to get protein in for the first few weeks?? weight.png

Hmmm ... liquid diet getting 60-70 g of Protein but not doing shakes ... interesting. I would love to know what their plan is.

For me, it was very tough and I fell short daily getting my Protein in and I did use Protein Shakes.< /p>

I agree, the first few weeks not meeting goal didn't cause me to suffer, but I do know I have lost A LOT of muscle mass which I'm sure has to do lowering my overall protein intake.

Why are they anti-protein and what is their plan to get you protein in the early days? Unless they are OK with your body feeding off of itself for the protein. Sure, you'd have more weight loss and perhaps that is all they care about.

Ask questions. Make them give you answers you understand.

Just because someone has a "Dr" in front of their name, doesn't always mean they know what they are talking about or aren't looking out for their own best interest.

OK, back on topic.

Water lover I also am from Stoon. They sell little Isopure drinks at shoppers also the isopure powder and many other brands that are not at the health food stores. We have a GNC at Midtown and I think Circle Park Mall. If you want to send me a message I may be able to help you out.

Thank you, Pdx. I definitely need to ask specific questions about that during my next appt.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
