chyna86 17 Posted February 9, 2012 YOu no in the beginning, I was the most optimistic person on the face of the earth regarding this surgery. I felt confident and sure that I would not have any issues. I believed that I would have this surgery and feel like the same person. I couldn't be more wrong. In fact I am starting to feel horrible. I no I am not getting in enough Protein and I am getting weaker by the day. I am having this consistent pain in the left upper quadrant of my abdomen that will not go away. I got so worried about it that I went and had a CT scan done in the ER the other day. I was happy to get a clear report and there was no infection, abscess, obstruction or any apparent issues. I was given a clean bill of health. But, then I was mad because I don;t no why I feel this pain. There is nothing worst then a doctor telling u "we can't find anything" but u are still having symptoms. It makes me scared to think that this pain will never go away and I will never feel normal again. My surgeon tends to think its normal and could be my intestines or stomach shifting and adjusting. Well i don't think so I feel this pain 24/7. It does not go away Wow...I never thought I would be saying "Why did I do this to myself" Now I am gonna go to my pcp Monday and do a follow up. I really don't no what type of test could be done to detect my pain. I guess I have the GI series left to do. Maybe I have a stricture or tight stitch. I don't no a CT scan will pretty much show everything and it showed nothing. The thought of being one of those people who has unexplained pain from here out is depressing. I don't want to be that person. I am starting to have major regrets. I can't say that I am having complications because as of now nothing is showing that there are any. All I can say is I fee like I made a mistake and I feel horrible. Sorry you're going through this! We would all really like an update. I am currently considering your doc. Do you think he is to blame at all? Would you recommend him still?

MsLadyKanKan 6 Posted February 12, 2012 Sorry you're going through this! We would all really like an update. I am currently considering your doc. Do you think he is to blame at all? Would you recommend him still? well...all I can say is that I was treated with such a high level of professionalism. I have recently seen a bariatric surgeon who does not think that it has anything to due with a botched surgery. He thinks that it is possible that I am having sum type of bile reflux issues. I am having an EGD done on the Feb 17th. I am still thinking there is something else such as "leak". I am not sure. All I no is that I started having this pain 1 week after surgery. I am tired frustrated and hating this damn sleeve right now. I just want to no whats going on and hopefully it can be fixed. These doctors are human not God and errors can be made. If it is not surgery related and it is bile reflux I will have to have a revision surgery to RNY. So I am praying for the best. But u can follow me on YOUTUBE. I recorded my journey from day one.....I think u will enjoy and it gives u a great account of how it is in Mexico. Look under MsLadyKanKan. Hope this helps. MsLadyKanKan 6 Posted February 12, 2012 If you don't feel right stay on it!! I had left side pain and left shoulder pain intermittently from the beginning - at about 9 weeks out I was diagnosed with a leak, then immediately went to pneumonia and was septic before the surgery to put in a drain 2 days later. A week after being released I had trouble breathing and back to the hospital - Fluid on my lungs. All caused from the leak. I went 9 weeks having my Dr's say it was acid reflux, not able to eat or drink as much as they said I should be able to. I had CBC's, chest xray, sinus xray, my 1 month labs, more labs at 6 weeks - it was the 6 week lab that finally got their attention - my ferritin was high, saturation and something else low so they sent me to a hematologist who ordered a chest CT which happened to catch an abscess in my abdomen. I didn't ever feel well, but felt better at 2 weeks than at 1 month and it just went down hill. I wish I would have pressed my Dr's harder so it didn't go this far. I am now on a feeding tube until it heals. So long story short, listen to your body!! I never had a fever, my cbc's were fine until the pneumonia hit. Girl wow..u really went thru. I have been trying to get this address since 1 week out of surgery. Because I did not have my surgery hear. It took me forever to get a bariatric surgeon. I had a CT scan back in December but they didnt find anything. I am having an EGD done on Feb 17th. The bariatric doctor thinks I am having some type of bile reflux problem that is causing irritation to my sthomach and intestines but I dont but that. I do feel like something is leaking when eat. WOrst case senario is that if its bile relux i would have revision to RNY surgery. I am so tired and sick of being tired. I just want them to find out whats wrong and fix it. I am on yourtube under MsLadyKanKan I will be posting updates there. Thanks so much for ur story. I am so glad that they found out ur problem and ur getting well.
