luv-a-bull 7 Posted December 10, 2011 Congrats on getting your date! I have been on liquids for 11 days and the first few days were the worst-but it does get easier! I have started chewing sugar free popsicles or sugar free gum (my surgeon allows gum preop but not post op). Good luck and stay positive. Addict 0 Posted December 10, 2011 The first 3 days of liquids are terrible, but it gets better. That terrible hunger you have? that's your body doing what you want it to, burning fat. the Protein and Snacks you're getting now are keeping your body from shutting down and entering starvation mode, where it only burns what it absolutely has to, to survive. Soon to be me 1 Posted December 11, 2011 I totally cheated on the pre-op diet today.. :n ( Its day number six, and i ate pizza. I felt like I was starving to death, dizzy and nauseous . It was all I ate all day...I didnt do the shakes or anything else, figured it was more then enough calories in the pizza. i guess Ill pick up where I left off tomorrow..tsk tsk.
