I thought this day was never going come lol I am finally starting my purees after 4 weeks in liquids pre op 2 and post op 2 as well. I am excited to use my blender

for something else that is not Protein Shakes LOL I know people asked this question before but I would like to see how your menu consisted when you were in puree diet?

Like any ideas besides tuna, green Beans, refried beans? I am quiet confused about the amounts I am suppose to start eating. I will see my surgeon tomorrow so I will ask him as well but I want different opinions to have some more ideas :) TIA my lovely sleeve sisters ^_^

1/2 cup for starters maybe less than that and should be a consistency of baby food!

canned tuna, salmons, finely ground up meat, mashed taters (yeay), low fat chili, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese (ewww), etc, etc!!!

*JUST MAKE SURE YOU CHEW IT LIKE 200 TIMES, lol BEFORE SWALLOWING:)

GOODLUCK.............

My staple food during purée and Soups stage was like a chicken Soup.

Put all the following ingredients in the blender:

-Roasted veggies ( I liked to do up quite a bit and keep them in a ziplock in the fridge for a quick grab)

- roasted chicken

- chicken broth ( homemade is better protein- just boil the bones from the roasted chicken)

- milk ( optional)

- powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup powder ( optional)

Purée fully - strain if needed.

I sometimes added chili or curry spices to keep it varied. I also started to make it very thick as I went along in stages

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
